Adult Swimmer Program

Swim to Survive
Overcome your fear of water and learn basic survival skills needed to recover from an unexpected fall into deep water. Floatation aids are key teaching tools used to support you, building your confidence and swimming skills to the point where you are ready to swim with out support.

L'il Tots and L'il Swimmer

The parented L'il Tots and unparented L'il Swimmer levels give your child a head start on learning to swim. L'il Swimmers is for independent 3-5 year old children who are ready to learn without their parents in the class.

L'il Tots
Especially for children aged 6 months to 3+ years and their parents. Based on the principle "Within Arms Reach", L'il Tots focuses on close playful interaction and shared fun between child, parent and water.

L'il Swimmer 1
These preschoolers learn to get into the water safely and will explore the water learning to submerge and exhale underwater. They'll learn to move safely in shallow water and use a PFD to be comfortable with their floats and glides.

L'il Swimmer 2
These youngsters will try rollovers, glides and flutter kicks and they'll recover objects from the bottom. Buoyant aids are used to help them explore deep water and to learn to kick on their front and back.

L'il Swimmer 3
These independent youngsters will master short swims on their front (5m) and back (8-10m). They'll do solo jumps and rolls into deep water and get out by themselves under the watchful eye of their instructor.

L'il Swimmer 4
These skilled preschoolers will show that they can support themselves in deep water. They'll strengthen their flutter kicks and try swimming front crawl. In the end they will meet the internationally recognized Swim to Survive standard.

Swimmer
Lifesaving Society Swimmer levels make sure your child learns how to swim before they get in too deep. Each level challenges school aged children 6 years and older to develop strong foundational skills, leading to smooth and efficient swimming strokes.

Swimmer 1
These beginning swimmers will work on safe entries, floats and moving through the water. They'll explore working in deep water with PFDs and when ready will do front and back floats without the extra support.

Swimmer 2
These children will be able to jump or roll into deep water, tread water, and swim 10-15m using either front crawl or back crawl. They'll learn whip kick and begin to work on their endurance level.

Swimmer 3
These swimmers will dive and do forward and backward rolls into deep water. Watch them learn to swim underwater and recover objects 1m down. They'll work on their front crawl, back crawl and whip kick over short distances and do endurance swims of 50m.

Swimmer 4
These swimmers will swim further with their front crawl and back crawl. They'll add stride jumps, scissor kick and elementary backstroke to their list of skills. Interval training will add to their fitness level.
